Hi
Recently I have ordered a dissertation with Oxbridge Essays which cost me 1,250 pounds. The paper that was delivered was unacceptable!!! I have sent the paper back for amendments and they were giving me another dates which weren't met. At the end I have missed my submission deadline (for amendments they had 2 months!!!!) and I asked them for the refund. They told me that I am not entilted to any!!! So I have lost my dissertation, 1250 pounds and a year of studies!!! I am thinking now of taking them to court and I am trying to find as many people with similar experience with them as mine. Toghether we will be able to claim more than seperately. So, please speak and contact me for plan of action :)))) I will bloody move the Earth to distroy those @#$%^*&%

I thought this company is above reproach. They say that they take only Oxford and Cambridge writers.

What was your topic? I am a writer; hence, the question.

We do this kind of papers often.

I think you can get your money back if you show how useless their paper was and that you could not use it in any way. They might keep a small amount. Usually I think these companies return most of it to save their own reputation. Good Luck!

Well they offered me only 20% for coming to their office twice (£250) I wanted the whole amount which they refused. I told them that I will take them to court and all newspapers will know about what they are doing, but still no reply. I have an interest from one newspaper so will see what they will be able to do.

Thanks for advice

Hi Kitty,

I think that it's very unlikely that you will get a 100% refund unless there is actual plagiarism within the paper. The writer who worked on your project may not have done the best job but they still worked on it and they still deserve some compensation for their effort.

Now, that doesn't mean that you don't have a strong case about why you deserve at least most of your money back. I would suggest the following:

1). Check the paper for plagiarism. There is often a link between poorly written papers and plagiarism. If you can find any portion of the paper plagiarized, then you'll be in a much better position and should be able to easily get 100% back.

2). Put together a schedule of dates - the due date, the lateness, etc. By being able to say exactly when the missed deadlines occurred, you'll be in a better position as well.

3). It sounds like, since you visited the local office, that you live in the same country as the company? That is great! I would consult a legal expert to find out your options. In the US it would probably be through small claims court but I don't know how the UK would handle a complaint (maybe julie can offer some advice here). I would think that once you have a clear legal strategy, you should visit them one more time - companies will hop to work with you once the legal threat is made in person. I assume that the UK also has organizations where consumers can complain about companies (like the BBB)?

4). Look over the directions that you gave and make sure that they were sufficient to get the quality that you wanted. If the instructions were vague, that is a problem for you and will be the source of the company's best defense.

Good luck.

Hi Lavinia,

Thanks for your message. The paper was 35% plagiarised... I have got all necessary emails and documentation. When I was making the amendments they new exactly what to change as in every lines they had tips from me. I do hope that I will be able to get at least most of my money back. I will try to find a good solicitor now. Thank you again

Oh wow, that's horrible that it was so severely plagiarized but great for you in terms of getting your money back. It was kind of you to even let them try to fix a plagiarized paper. You better get 100% then.

Good luck.

Well lets go togheter to a solicitor. I think we would be able to claim even more money!!!! If you want we can meet up and will try to do something togheter!!! I can assure you that you will not get either your paper back or money, so DO NOT PAY them even a penny more! Decision is yours. I will go anyway and get advice, but at least we could share the expenses if there will be any. Please contact me if you would like to do something about it.

Kitty, We are all tempted to go legal at one point or other, as writers and as students. It won't serve the purpose. You have to state that you were buying this essay from them. Please be careful. It should not spoil your student status. They know this weakness and that is how they dare to treat students carelessly.
