Hello Everyone,
I am aware that this is not a support forum for Essaytown but I'm also aware that certain members here are very knowledgeable about how the system on essaytown work so I'm going to ask my question also ( I did message customer support on essay town, and waiting for answer). First off, I have used Essaytown once before, I received a favorable score for my paper so I'm satisfied so far. Earlier today, I've place another paper assignment with Essay town, this one is longer (6 pages, the last one was only 2 pages). Now the reason I'm here is that I suspect something unusual occur and I'm worry if my paper is being look at all.
For those of you who's not familiar with the system, when you placed an order on essaytown, you are given an access to something called "Customer Control Panel" this is where you can interact with your writer (provided that one picked up your assignment), upload your resources, and most important, track your paper progress. There are 3 stages to a paper that appear as icon to help you track the progress of your paper. The 3 stages are "Pending approval, Writing in Progess, and Fully completed" in sequential order, the icon will light up as your paper get picked up, and when completed, etc.
This is where I suspect a problem occurred. The last time I ordered my paper, my paper stayed in the Pending Approval for a couple of dayr before the next icon, Writing in progress light up, together with the message that read "There is currently a writer working on your order." However, today, immediately after I placed my order, both the Pending Approval and the Writing in Progress lit up together with the message "There is currently a writer working on your order." I was really happy, but of course I'm kinda worry because it doesn't seem plausible, so like any sensible human, I come to this website and use the search function to search and see if anyone have encounter similar problem, and sure enough, I stumble upon a thread that another user might have encounter something similar. The thread was rather negative so I don't want to necro it and decided to start a new one instead. The thread is here: EssayTown and Customer Service Basically, what the OP in that thread claims is that his essay was automatically assigned to a writer right when he place the order, quote here:
Azul: I messaged the supposed writer in charge of writing my order (it was automatically assigned to a writer when I placed the order, so I doubt the writer was even contacted beforehand)
I would have thought the same thing, if not for FreelanceWriter, who is apparently knowledgeable about how the system work, claims:
FreelanceWriter: We never get papers "assigned" to us; we have an assignment board that lists available orders and we take any that we want to write.
I hope you guys can now see the problem. Is this a glitch in the system for returning customers of Essaytown? should I be worry? Because although FreelanceWriter claim that writers have to look at an assignment boards that list available order before they take the order, I'm sure mine didn't go through the same process, unless there is a writer that took my assignment milliseconds right after I place my order, which I highly doubt... Anyways, I guess my situation is a little different than the other OP is that my paper deadline is next week, and not tomorrow, so I have a little more time to spare. But if my order was assigned to a phantom writer by a glitch in the system, and no other writers could see it, then I could encounter the same fate at the other OP. Please advise on what I should be doing, obviously I can't cancel the order and place a new one, but I can't say that there's no writer working on mine assignment also since the system say there is one, so I'm kinda stuck in a sticky situation. Should I just wait it out? Best,

It's pretty competitive: your order probably just got grabbed off the board by a writer the instant after it appeared, which happens all the time. Sometimes there's a delay in billing verification that adds a few hours between payment and board appearance, but once they get posted, they often do get taken in seconds. If it says you have a writer, you can use the messages to contact him/her and ask to confirm. But no assignments are ever "assigned" to us because we always have the option to take or ignore any posted order. If nobody wants it, it will stay visible on the board to any writer who hasn't "hidden" it. (And as I've advised before, the fasted route to getting your paper ignored by as many writers as possible is to place a low-value paper order that says nothing but "4 page Essay...please see emailed files for direction." That means we'd have to keep checking the system resource files just to find out whether the order is even in our areas.)
The only possible "glitch" could be if you ever use the "add pages to order" function to any order that has already been completed and sent. That could cause a real problem. That's why that function should olny be used to add pages to orders that are still pending.

Thank you for the prompt reply, I did try to contact my writer (just today though), but as you can see from the other thread, the guy also said he tried contacting his also to no available. So I guess all I can do is wait now, I do have more time than him though so I hope my situation will be different. Your reassurances is of great help mentally though, so thanks again.
I'll be back with to update if unexpected things happen. If I don't come back, to everyone who read this thread in the future, you could assume that everything work out alright and I'm a happy camper :)
