Ok, I'm not so much worried about the quality of the papers so much as whether or not they are scams...
what websites are safe?

For example, if I get a paper from bestessays.com ... will it be seen as plagiarism when I hand it in, or will they see it as legit?

When you receive the paper from some writing service (it doesn't matter which) run the paper immediately through one or more of the essay scanning tools. Some of them are known as raptor, viper and so on..... This could give you an indication whether your paper might be plagiarised or genuine.

bye the way, in addition to my previous post, if you plan on using the bestessays.com, it might be wise to review the threads on this forum on them firstly....

bestessays.com[DND*] = Ukrainian deception
**** = minor company, and certainly not the only legitimate one

seeing all the bashing that takes place on this site, that seems pretty random...
are there any objective websites that you know of that would provide such a ranking?

WesternStudent: are there any objective websites . . . that . . . provide such a ranking? Nope. Even if there were, it would be operated by a completely biased owner of an essay site.

you know, looking around this website, I get the feeling that contrary to what you say, you couldn't care less about the clients, you're just upset about jobs going to people outside of North America & the UK
see, you could easily send an email, and no1 would know, instead you choose to only shout out "scam scam scam" at nearly every link posted.
you *really* need to meet some real people... maybe learn what it takes to be a real person yourself

WesternStudent = moron who obviously can't read simple guidelines and resorts to insults (no wonder he/she needs remedial writing assistance)

Gee... what a shocking response.
Someone who spends all their time discussing essay writing services on the internet has called me a moron, whatever shall I do?
Helping people really feels better than being a dick(or in your case, a *****)... you should try it on for size, provided that sitting in front of a computer screen all day discussing essay writing services allows you to fit into anything other than a moo-moo.
Have a good night (day?).

For some reason, the moderator has decided to protect you, despite your rule-breaking from the start. You are also allowed to issue insults after asking for and receiving my HELP, but I am not allowed to respond. Well, I guess you win!

I am so glad I came back to see if any1 had posted any insightful comments... I really am.
btw, saying which sites are legitimate isn't giving a recommendation... it's stating a fact, which is what you claim to do in all your bashings anyways

WesternStudent: saying which sites are legitimate isn't giving a recommendation Do you care to notice the name of this site? It's "EssayScam.org," not "EssayLegit.org." What you want (a list of "legit" sites) is not here and will never be here.

what do you think helps people more? telling them what sites not to use or telling them what sites to use...
there are a limitless amount of fraudulent sites on the internet, the best way to keep people away from them isn't to name a very finite group of scam sites but to suggest the legitimate sites.
If you really want to stop scams, you direct people to legit sites, as well as warn them about scam fraudulent ones.
I'm gonna go back to my essay now...

I'm not too familiar with the policies of this forum, but you seem to have sincere questions, and sincerely need help. Have you considered a tutor to help you organize and write your dissertation?
I know that tutors can be expensive, but there are plenty of resources out there that teach you how to handle large amounts of research and writing. I know of one in particular, but that is because it is the system I used to help me get through graduate school.
It was so effective it's the method I'm using now to try to get work writing articles!

well, I'm over halfway done at this point, with almost exactly 48 hours left to go, and my sister, who has several degrees, editing my work... I recently had a setback that involved a battery running out of juice and a large portion of work not saved... which is kind of annoying, but also means that some of this will get done faster.
I do think that your suggestion is a good one though, with all the money going into my education already, what's another few hundred, eh? :P

As a tutor, I find plagiarism makes me very angry with, and disappointed by, any students who buy or copy other people's work. However, I think I often have the last laugh. I recently purchased from the internet for a minimal cost - $31 -a copy of a most interesting paper which had been submitted to an academic journal some years ago by two American Ph.D students, who have since gone on to become eminent in their field. I bought the paper because I was able to search the internet by putting various phrases from my student's work in to Google and find that it was in fact the work of other people. When confronted, the student concerned had no choice other than to admit he had plagiarised, but told me that he had ordered the paper from a 'bespoke' writing service for a sum of hundreds of pounds. The only differences between the original paper I had and the 'customised' one the student had submitted were that all the references made in the original document had been changed, and my coper was so inexpensive. So, the message is 'buyer beware!'. Even though most universities have software these days that can detect plagiarism. we tutors are still on the case, and students who do plagiarise often find themselves dismissed from university altogether. Please don't do it, it's so much more fun to learn if you do it by yourself. Also, I recently looked at the web page of a 'buy your essays here' website and noticed several spelling mistakes on it. That says a lot.
