Guys,

I came across an advert on gumtree for essays http://www.gumtree.com/london/45/37102545.html.. you can contact him via a webform and he responded using the 24houressay@googlemail.com.

I have no contact number or company name from this person. guaranteed that I will get my essay before I pay.

Anyone heard of him or know if he's genuine; I need this pretty urgent as deadline is soon.

Thanks
mbastudent

Hey all, you smell that?

This thread should be deleted.

yes :D

Reason: It usually takes about a few hours for regular members to respond. And if someone asks about a random service provider the chances of a loyal customer finding this thread somehow, joining the forum and posting a positive experience are extremely low. (I wonder if a post is indexed on Google in an hour).

Make it look realistic post and then wait for a day or a week before responding :D

Chris Webber works with an accomplice Ben Roberts and they are both first class scammers. They use also one additional email for their operations: ukessayservice@gmail.com.

I know several people who ordered an essay from him, and never got anything. It usualy works that when placing an order he gives you Ben Roberts or some Andrew guy bank account number or states that you can send him a cheque, but when ever you ask for cheque details he never responds. Upon ordering, the customer is asked to pay half of the price which is usualy from 90 GBP to 160 GBP depending on the deadline, however, even if the customer does it, it is highly unlikely that youŽll get anything from them. Actualy this seems to be a lottery, CW accepts any order from a customer, asks for a payment and after a week or two depending on deadline you might or might not receive your essay, and he never responds you anymore. I had a friend who ordered some topic in finance, never got anything from him and then upon being persistant was sent some essay on a totaly different topic. The best thing was, that the essay sent wasnŽt even delivered by email, then my friend was provided a link on website from where the essay can be downloaded. When downloaded, he got also an adware tracking cookie (I assume the CW guy wanted to find out his IP address or something). The other guy also ordered an essay from them, however he got half of an essay for review, but the other half was never delivered.
Quite interesting is their so called refund system, if by any case the customer has paid and never received anything, CW asks the customer to notify him about his/her address, and the course and university at which the customer is studying in order for them to "check" whether essay was handed in as yours (the same essay that youŽve never received).

Also found his ad on gumtree. I ordered from him and after making the first payment I got a first draft of the work. I was then asked for a final payment to get the finished text and I was stupid enough to make that payment.
It has been 5 days now and he wont reply to any of my emails!
This is what i got for being stupid and trusting some random person.
Luckly I was able to get a week off work to write it myself.

Is there any chance of making this guy pay for what he did? I have the account details of some B Roberts, any chance of trackin him down? I paid them via an online tranfer from my account to his, any chance I can get my money back??? Should I go to the police?
Need advice please.
thanks

Why in the world would you pay some random douche bag from Craigslist/Gumtree when there are old, established, American companies?

i know i know, that was probably the most stupid thing I have ever done in my life. I didn't know about this website b4 and thought I couldn't trust those hundreds of essay writing websites. For some stupid reason I believed that this one d**head would be worth trusting, specially when he said I could pay by chapter.
Anyway, I'm trying not to let myself get too worked up about it. but still want to know if there is anything i can do to get my money back?!?

Since he didn't isue the receipt upon your first payment, you can collect all the email documentation and place it on disposal to the tax authorities. Based on the Finance Act 2008 for any service rendered there should be issued receipt. Upon proving your case to the tax authorities, and establishing the fraudulent scheme in his operations, they should be able to track him down based on the account to which you made the payment, and question his operations on assumption, that he renders or pretends to render services for which he doesn't pay taxes and therefore commits an illegal act. Upon the tax authority's order the bank from which you made the transfer to his account would be able to commence process of retrieving your money from his account. There are certain indications that BR is actualy CW.

Unfortunately, no. That's one of the many drawbacks to using an anonymous, completely unaccountable individual who has nothing to lose besides a worthless, personal email address that can be replaced in two minutes.

Legitimate companies have a reputation at stake.

I called the tax evasion hotline today and reported the guy. I'm also going to his bank now to tell them about him, dunno exactly what I'll be able to do, but I will do something and he will pay for this.
thanks for the advice bambi

I would suggest applying to several different companies. When you find a couple you think you like, do some net searches and some forum searches here to look for any complaints or warning signs. You wouldn't really want to work for just 1 company anyway- the wider variety of companies promises a better variety of interesting projects.

Great! So I started the thread and like some others got conned by this DOG!!

I received my essay before paying him and paid him as soon as I had it in hand. I sent it off only to receive a fail grade.

Now I am trying to get him and he doesn't respond back to my emails. I will take it up since I paid through my credit card and will report him to the authorities.
