The pensters is a real site. I have known it for a while. They do however work differently due to their recent restructuring. The writers have to use SEO in order to advertise themselves and their accounts. This is how they get their orders. You can check out http://www.thepensters.com/luce/ this is one of the writers. You can always check it out and see what happens. If you like this writer you can select her. If not, feel free to look elsewhere. It is wise to conduct thorough research prior to dismissing something altogether.

what jules said makes perfect sense. thepensters.com has decided to take one of the main reasons that writers rely on companies in the first place, and pull it out from under them. that's right: if you write for thepensters, you have to do your own marketing. SEO is part of this. you'd do better on your own with a free email and freedom. their business model makes no sense to anyone but upper management.
expect to see a lot more links from desperate pensters writers on this forum.
