Uh oh...I was just about to place an order with them! I'm glad I read this!! Would've been a shame if I'd have wasted my time placing an order, waiting God knows how many days thinking somebody's working on it only to be given a refund! O: I don't even have the time for their unprofessionalism. Thank you Gambit. Much appreciated. (:

The company has been around for over 15 years and has some of the best writers in the business (some of whom are members of this forum). It's simply not possible to complete every order. Anyone who assumes otherwise—and refers to the company as "unprofessional" because it provided a refund—is an absolute idiot.

Any company that claims "a writer is working on your order", fails to respond to your correspondence and finally gives you a refund after wasting God alone knows how many precious days is "unprofessional" in my dictionary. Just because I do not share your views or definition of "unprofessional" it does not make me an idiot, irrespective of what you or anyone believes.

you're still telling people you don't work for Essaytown, right?

That's because I don't. Do you have any proof whatsoever to the contrary? Nope. I, however, have numerous pieces of evidence proving that you are a clueless idiot (starting with this thread that you started).

thanks, WB. I do still think that writers in this industry need to be treated better by their bosses, who don't do as much of the work. if this makes me stupid to you, maybe you should check on your honesty level regarding your position in this industry. you're still telling people you don't work for Essaytown, right?

After stumbling upon this site last night, it has been a fairly simple exercise to figure out who is a "native" speaker of English from those who are glaringly ESL.

WritersBeware can't possibly work for essaytown, because he is definitely not one of their ESL drones.

Correct.

You're obviously confused with another company.

Who exactly are ET's "ESL drones"? There are plenty of foreign scam operators, but ET isn't one of them. This forum is for exposing actual scams, not denigrating your competition because your site isn't pulling enough traffic.

I see the defenders of Essaytown are here to fight the fire, as usual. WB, that is a pretty funny post up there-- you really seem to think you can have your cake and eat it, too. are you still sticking to the lie that you don't defend and promote the agenda of your employer against its competitors on this board?

Why not? I've defended other companies I have no association with against similar comments, and this comment directly impacts me. As I said, this site is about exposing scams, not simply calling companies scams as a way of competing.

I have nothing against defending ET openly as an employee, pheelyks, although I sort of doubt that they have zero ESL writers on the books. the criticism was addressed to your colleague.

You really oughtn't use plurals to refer to single individuals, then, since you want to get nit picky.

"fighting the fire" is hardly a criticism. you apparently did not see the part where I stopped the plural and addressed WB singly. not very nit-picky...

Nowhere did I refer to EassyTown as a scam. But now that you mention it, a google search of Essaytown pulls up various complaints on ripoffreport and other consumer complaint sites.
I didn't/don't cast unwarranted aspersions.

Done posting here, yawn.

You're a moron. Are you aware that the site has been in business since 2001 and probably serves 50,000+ customers per year? I see only a handful of "complaints," almost all of which are many years old. Plus, in almost every case, the customer was proven either wrong or to be a liar.

Since you have thought it wise to post this nonsense against a site that has proven to not engage in any scams or fraud whatsoever, I will be posting a thread dedicated to your ripoff "site."

I started off posting on here by complimenting you and another writer for being stand outs as native English speakers.
Strange that you are putting all this energy into attacking someone who hasn't done you any harm.

If you post intentionally false or misleading information about a competitor, you are going to answer for it. FYI, you permanently "harm" the integrity of the forum by posting such nonsense.

You apparently failed to see that I responded to the part where you used a plural, and failed to connect the "nit-picky" comment to your rather futile attempts to denigrate my abilities in language mechanics.

that still doesn't make fire-fighting a criticism. but how's this... you're a dumb-ass.

...and you responding as if I said it was a criticism doesn't mean I ever said it. And the sky is blue. And you like to make posts that aren't at all relevant and often make little sense.

Stating the obvious sure is fun.

"the criticism was addressed to your colleague."

how hard is it to understand that, and not be a wheedling pin-cushion about it?

"rather." btw, speaking of pedestrian, when a dumb-ass like you tries to come off looking intelligent, it just makes you look pathetic.

defenders

This word is plural. You use it after WB and I posted in response to a false claim made about ET. By using this word in its plural form, you were necessarily referring to WB and I. the only part of your post that I responded to was the clause containing this word.

How hard is this to understand?
editor75:
it just makes you look pathetic.

You post, on an almost daily basis, useless drivel on a site devoted to an industry you have no knowledge of or interest in. I hardly think you're a qualified arbiter of "pathetic."

It's not senseless to anyone who has a sense if humor and basic understanding of the English language. Shut up and bring me some chicken tikka masala.

chicken tikka masala

If you don't mind headless chickens, try frying yourself (or whatever is done to make tikka masala).
