...and I haven't even seen the essay yet! They say it's ready but they want me to send a copy of my passport or driving licence because I'm a "first time user". They took my money via Paypal on 30 March. Why would they need ID?

Fast Essays .co.uk is a new site created by a verifiably fraudulent "company" from Ukraine.

Not yet but I've managed to get Fastessays to agree to send it to me WITHOUT them seeing a copy of my personal documents. The writer has asked for an extension to the deadline because Fastessay told him/her to stop work on it yesterday while they were arguing with me. I've agreed to 12 hours extension.
I have hopes. The people in the office speak poor English, but from the emails I've exchanged with the writer I think s/he is a native speaker.
I'll keep you posted.

Good for you. Don't think it is advisable to give personal details to essaywriters, unless you are really sure of the company.

Well, I got the essay. It was written by a native English speaker and the grammar and vocabularily were fine, but it wasn't anywhere near 2:1 standard. Narrative not analysis in the main, tho' I had said narrative was not required, and it rambled away from the point.
However, I used it as a base to build on. Probably used about a third of it, and had to put in about 5 hours work myself. So - expensive for what I got. It was the first time I've used an essay writing service and I won't use one again.

Why would you blame that Ukrainian scam's garbage on legitimate companies?

Yup WB has a point, just because they scammed you, don't make faulty assumptions on other legimate companies. I have used several and came across a good one and i haven't been disappointed so far :)

The difficulty is in recognising a good one. Since reading this site I've seen every writing service I've ever heard of slated as poor/useless. Can't afford to waste any more money like that.

Yikes...That honestly sounds shady. Sorry that happened. You can try filing a dispute with Paypal or a chargeback with your bank if they fail to deliver a legitimate essay.

Nope.

Depends.

And requesting ID isn't that strange if the customer and the company are in different countries. You'd know these things, essaybra, if you had any sort of clue.

Why would I know these things? I've never paid for an essay when I was in uni. And I don't have a need to ask for peoples IDs. I've had success just using Paypal for everything.

r u a wizard?

And yes you can 'try' to file a dispute with paypal. Otherwise they wouldn't keep the option there.

Because you're doing business in this industry. It literally is your job to know these things.

And you don't even know what protections it does (or doesn't) provide to you and your customers. Another example of your general incompetence.

Yes. Knowing what you're doing is magical.

OK. You got me. Of course, you can also "try" looking in the mirror and demanding a refund from your reflection, which would take less time and have the same result.

Yes I do know the protections it provides the buyer/seller.

I asked you if you were a wizard. You said you are a wizard because I'm doing magic? That makes no sense.

You can file a dispute such a service on Paypal. Didn't really understand the point of that intadasting analogy.

Do you run a brick and mortar writing service? or click and mortar? or just online based?I am really interested to see what your business is like.

Don't think I've found one positive post by you in this entire forum. y u mad tho?

Not to be mean, but for future reference it's not THAT hard to figure out the sham sites from the legit ones.
Besides my own site, I've noticed that other reputable sites tend to be simple. Not flashy, not touting too good to be true prices/offers.
So in the event you decide to use another service, avoid the shiny glossy ones with over the top verbiage.
Or find someone local to where ever you reside.

That is correct.
I have 20 browser windows open and am barely looking at the screen while I type things.
I'm really not too concerned about being precise on this site.
