Seriously, thought I had done a fair bit of research on here, but hey nothing ventured nothing gained!
I placed two orders two weeks' ago (yes I was confident after reading everything some forum members had to say........)
One assignment has been returned and the English is dreadful/awful/terribly poor. I specifcially asked for a writer with English as their first language and was given written assurance from EssayTown that of course they would. I felt really rude asking actually (!) but after everything I've read on here thought I would mention it just in case. I'm now in the re-write zone, but I'm not hopeful as I'm sure the writer will be the same.
The second .......they were unable to get a writer to complete so they've refunded me! I'm not going to comment on the assignment itself, but really, two weeks to tell me. That can't be ok surely?
I asked Essay Town for an explanation 24 hours ago as I thought I'd hang on for a response before posting on here.................nothing.
What do I do? It's great that they've been honest to refund me and not give me something else sub standard but I'm left in a bit of a pickle now. I promise it was straightforward!

Then it is clear they could not find the right writer for your paper. I think it's natural. Not every topic can find itself with a writer. They didn't scam you in any way though.

I had similar experience with Coursework expert. Their work was very poor and it was palagrised and they refused to give refund. Big con.

About all you can do is let them know about the quality of the writer to help them get rid of any problem writers. As to the delayed notification about the refunded order, you have to understand how the process works from their end: The order goes up on a virtual bulletin board of assignments and writers take the orders they want. Some papers get taken quickly but others may stay up for a week and only get taken the day before they're due. Those that never get taken get refunded. The company just has no way of knowing when (or if) a given paper will get taken by a writer. All they can do is refund it if it isn't done by the due date.

If I placed the order again - asking for a specific writer - do you think it might get taken? I truly believe it's straightforward. I wish I knew what the problem was. I wonder if perhaps I didn't word it very well. To be honest I think it just needs a fabulous writer. It's not econometrics or anything particularly scientific or technical.

TeddyG: do you think it might get taken? I think you should first communicate to ET your previous experience and then ask them to address the issues you faced. I think they will sure find a good writer this time.

It's 48 hours now and still no response from EssayTown. Jill seemed so genuine and I refuse to believe I've been scammed.

TeddyG: no response from EssayTown In this case, I guess, the great defenders of ET here will come up with something substantive. Perhaps, they will swarm you with their favorite words. Beware!

You've already posted a misleading and libelous thread title, so you should quit while you're behind. As pheelyks and freelancewriter have already stated about 10,000,000 times, the company and/or writer do not contact you unless he/she/it specifically needs something from you. You have an admin panel for a reason. Use it. Stop posting about it here. Get it through your skull that this is NOT the company's support forum. Do you really think posting your customer support questions in a SCAM forum is going to make the company's employees WANT to go out of their way to help you? I sure as hell wouldn't. Wake up!

So there's some truth in the claim, after all.

rwaimba2: So there's some truth in the claim, after all. In what claim, exactly? Full thoughts are useful; a minimum of context is essential.

Essaytown claims to have native English speakers and on-time submission. I don't know how hard it can be. I requested a paper a week ago. I paid to have it done in three days. I recieved it four days later. It was not only late, but it completely ignored the instructions, giving a different style of report. On top of this, the English was simple ridiculous. I would now not be surprised if Essaytown was just another site running from a developing country, claiming to be from the United States. They do not answer their phone and do not respond to emails or messages. I understand what keeps on being said that the writer does not need to contact the customer, but the customer service really should. Even though I sent several messages in the control panel to customer service, and emailed them also, they refuse to respond. This company is honestly nothing but a scam. They submit papers that are late, incorrect and written in the English of a four year old.

It takes time to provide a re-write. Read the contract and see what it says about re-write time. All companies require extra time to provide re-writes. What—you think that rewrites do themselves instantly? Shut the f*ck up, stop the libel (which can land you in some serious legal trouble), and have some patience. The company has been in business since 1995, completing probably 350,000+ orders. You act as if you're currently their only customer and have been waiting for ages. Sober up.
