Essay Town experience.. So far

Hi guys, I'm here to document my experience with Essay Town.

Seeing a few threads regarding the company and their resolutions has given me a sort of comfort and guarantee that whatever the outcome, I'd either get an essay OR my money back.

Anyway, I've decided to get a 10-page, 3000 word, custom research paper.

Though the control panel shows that the order is indeed "in progress", my attempts to contact the writer has been futile so far. Support has also not given me a reply at the moment. I've filled out the Custom research department form stating my concern regarding whether or not the paper is indeed being worked on by a writer.

My concern stems from another thread by the user "azul", where his paper, which was similarly "in progress" was somehow left without a writer and got his money back. I'd like to know if the paper is being worked on, because in the event that it isn't being worked on, I would probably have to start doing some research on my own to brace myself and possibly have to work on it on my own.

Hope i don't get flamed for this, I'm honestly just trying to contribute to the experiences regarding this site and let others draw their own conclusions from it.

Dear Solidarity,

Thank you for sharing. I am not familiar with Essay Town and have not worked for them. Just like all organisations get some negative feedback, the same applies to essay companies. It is rare we hear the positive feedback, making it difficult to identify the good companies from the bad. I hope that your experience improves.

Appreciate the reply DrDavis! I noticed.. The people who are satisfied probably wouldn't post on forums anyway! So I just thought I'd share my experience with the community in real time i guess!

I think you will most probably get your paper by the deadline. It is surely possible that ET may not have a specific writer for your paper but in this case you'll get your money back; however, the Azul-experience you referred to is a rarity with ET (you can do the search for yourself).

Perhaps you should given them a call and I would suggest you don't need to panic this much.

When is your essay deadline, solidarity?

Thanks MeoKhan. Would like to know if its normal for the writer to not respond through the control panel? As I am unsure of whether or not its common practice for writers to answer. I've tried calling but to no avail unfortunately. I'll probably try again later!

Haha I'm kinda anxious because I'm just preparing for the worst i guess.. Not that i have anything against ET, just that i want to be ready should anything go wrong, I'll be able to respond quickly to the situation. What i don't understand is, if the control panel says that the order is 'in progress' and on the order page, in green, it says 'There is currently a writer working on your order', does that mean that there really is a writer working on the essay or does that appear regardless?

Hey DrDavies(sorry for mispelling the first time), the deadline's June 3.

Solidarity, it does sound like they have assigned a writer to your essay and would have contacted you if there was a problem. I understand why you are anxious though, especially if you haven't used an essay service before. You still have 5 days, so try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know).

Thanks DrDavies, I will try and relax and not worry too much! The only reason for my apprehension is that i have not gotten a response from the writer after asking him a question on the ET's control panel. Followed by a similar response, or lack of it as I've mentioned earlier as well. Anyway I'm repeating myself and rambling!

I'll just relax and wait i guess!

The writer's responsibility is to complete the project correctly and on time, based on the instructions provided by the customer in the order. It is not the writer's responsibility to sit by the computer all day in eager anticipation of a customer's "Hey, are you working?" email.

Writers are never "assigned"; we take whatever orders we want to from the board on a first-come/first-served basis unless you request a specific writer. If we don't take a request, those also get posted on the board after a few hours unless you state that you will not accept any other writer (in which case, it gets refunded).

I don't see any 10-pg papers on the board but I recall seeing some recently, which means someone probably took it off the board. Personally, I can't tell you how annoying it is to get those "How's my essay coming along?" emails (especially, when I'm 2 or 3 papers away from even looking at it) or the ones asking if I "know how to write a critical response" or the ones reminding me not to plagiarize and to use good grammar. I'll either ignore them or just respond "Your order will be ready as scheduled. Thank you."

If you contact me with a legitimate concern or question, I'll always answer appropriately. Your writer may not even necessarly be at his computer.

Thanks for the feedback! Thank you for helping me realise that its pretty frustrating to have a anxious customer breathing down your neck. I'll keep that in mind and not bother him i guess. Thanks for explaining the process as well. Cheers

Hi guys, just an update, as I've mentioned in my first post that i filled in my custom research department form, someone from ET has replied saying that a writer is currently working on my paper.

Cheers!

currently working

I guess we had already expressed the likelihood of someone working on your paper. Companies (according to my personal research - at least) with a reputation don't seem to play dirty tricks.

However, I must say you panicked more than required and so you should try to keep your nerves in the future. Good luck!

MeoKhan, you're right. In retrospect, I guess i got a little anxious after reading those "horror stories" and the lack of replies on the customers control panel.

Glad i got so much insight from all of you! Thanks again and I will continue to update you guys on the experience. Cheers guys. Have a great day.

I always ask several times if something doesn't sound right, and I let them know (nicely). You can call, write them e-mail, ask through control panel etc.

Hey Writers_Block, yes I've actually sent a total of 4 messages to the writer through the control panel and ended up sending an email to ET just to confirm that the essay was indeed picked up by a writer! Well, the email worked at least! Don't want to disturb the writer anyhow.. I have to keep in mind that they may have more than just my essay to complete!

Thanks anyway! I'll keep you guys posted.

Hey guys, just a quick update, the writer has replied me on the control panel! After i apologised for coming across too pushy.. So that's a real relief! I guess the only thing to do now is wait for the essay and hope it works out well! Cheers guys.

Ok so I am wondering, did you get your paper? How does it look? I have not used a writing service either but I am thinking about it. I have a paper due June 9th and have yet to begin since losing my father suddenly. So, I am looking into something that I never thought I would. But I have worked so hard so far, my mind is not in it. Is this ET safe?

Hi notalent, yes I just got my paper a few hours ago! Few hours before the deadline might i add, the quality is pretty good apart from needing to make some alterations myself. Also, I have to make some clarifications regarding a portion of it, but other than that, it's been a pretty pleasant experience.

I think it may also depend on the subject.. What subject are you looking at?

That is good news, solidarity. If the change you need are in line with your original request, then the writer should do it for free. However, if the changes are those that you have decided on reflection and after submitting your original request, then it would usually be classed as additional work and thus require further payment. When I am writing for a client I always says that I will make any reasonable changes free of charge, reasonable meaning that they aren't asking for whole new sections, etc., just some minor modifications.

If you can do the changes yourself, it will save you some money and allow you to give some 'shape' to your final work.

notalent, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Much of my work comes from students who, in the main, are very capable of completing their assignments but are faced by unforeseen circumstances. Since they are not accustomed to 'handing their work over' to someone else they can be very anxious. This is understandable, but if you choose the right company or person then this can be a good option for you during what must be a difficult time.

Do your research before selecting a company and, if possible, get the work completed in time for you to make any amendments if you are not completely happy with the final essay.

Good luck and let us know how your experience goes.

Hey DrDavies, yes I am extremely relieved to have received the essay. Well it has more to do with the format and not the content whatsoever, however, I have just some queries for the writer regarding certain portions of the essay, as to whether or not it is deemed an appropriate style to be adopted!

Will let you guys know when he replies! Cheers again guys. Hope to report back soon.
