Employers (companies) for self-employed freelance writers

I was just wondering which essay companies people though were good to work for. I'm fairly new to the biz, and work for essaywriters.com. I know some people here have complaints about them, however I do not seem to have a problem other than the low pay (in my opinion).

What I do like about the website is the structure of picking my assignment. Usually about 300-400 are backloged, and detailed with due dates, pay, and assigment details. I can contact the customer directly through their message system (no emails given out) if I have any problems which makes things easier.

I know alot of other companies charge the customer around $20/page min, with the price doubling for rush orders. How much are the writers getting at these sites? What is the average pay per page?

Any details with other employers would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Well, the average pay per page can be easily calculated: writers get 25 - 30 %. But, be aware, not all the companies will pay you the money you've earned. Read this and if you know Russian, follow the link: http://www.essayscam.org/Forum/9_120_0.html
Guess, you'll find it helpful.

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience of writing for either oxbridgeessays or ukessays and is in a position to offer advice. I've been sent confirmation by both companies but am startled to read their terms and conditions. It seems that if the companies wish to penalize their writers they could make it very difficult indeed:

Term 7 - for instance - of what oxbridgeessays call their 'legally binding undertaking' reads:

"7. I understand and agree that if this written work breaches any term of this contract that my fee for this written work will be wholly forfeited, that I will be liable to fully reimburse Oxbridge Essays for any loss of business arising from this brief, and additionally that I will be liable to repay Oxbridge Essays not less than 60% of all fees previously paid to me."

Now 60% of all fees previously paid not only seems hard but has the penalizing of writers increasingly profitable with continued service. There must come a time when claiming 60% of a long term author's "fees previously paid" is worth more to the company than his continued service.

I've been thinking on these documents for a couple of weeks now and would very much appreciate your advice.

Thank you,

Ioannis

I agree... I would ask them what exactly it means, but it doesn't sound right.

I don't write for either company (though have used both as a client) but I do have a very good friend who sometimes writes for UKessays.com and he sent me this from their 'legally binding undertaking' that all their contracted writers have to agree to:

"By submitting this work I understand that if I am found to be in breach of this undertaking as a whole that I will not only forfeit my fee for that work but I will also be liable to repay not less than 50% of all fees paid to me by your organisation, and may also be subject to legal proceedings in order to recover damages for the loss of profit and damage to the business reputation of your organisation".

The wording is quite similar isn't it? (as well as being similarly onerous!)

Have you thought about setting yourself up as an expert on kasamba.com? Sounds a lot less hassle to me than working through an essay company and you get to choose what you want to charge for your work.

PS If you do set yourself up on kasamba and you can write good quality philosophy essays then let me know - I'm looking for a writer at the moment!

Thank you very much for this. Is there a safe way to get my contact details to you? Philosophy is very much my area.

Does "kasamba" pay right after the project was completed or the provider must wait a specified amount of time to get the money? Do they transfer the money directly to your bank account?

Well Kasamba automatically transfers the money to the writer after 7 days, if the customer does not pay the amount immediately to the writer after the completed project.

Well when the customer agrees to hire the writer on Kasamba, he transfers the amount in his Kasamba account which is kept by the company itself till the project is completed by the writer. On finishing the project, the customer gets an option to pay the writer immediately. If he does not or forgets to pay, Kasamba automatically pays the amount to the writer after 7 days in his Kasamba account. Then the writer can transfer this amount to his paypal account if he wants to.

Can you actually get a lot of regular work and is there demand for Kasamba, anyone currently working for them?
