Hello,

I am very curious because, i am thinking if essay writing sites don't share their essay with anyone else how will teachers or tutors know that student cheat ? apart from that software..

The teacher may know your writing style or your writing abilities. Or if you didn't provide detailed instructions (like using a specific source covered in class), it may be a little suspicious too.

A good teacher will notice if you submit a work done by someone else. Unless this someone else will write in the manner of your own, but that is almost impossible. Besides if students write some paper they should know very well what is written there and this can be tracked by teachers.

I think Ann_y wanted to say this: IF the teacher *knows* your writing style well enough he/she may be able to question the authenticity of the paper IF the paper in question is written in a very different style. But even then it would be near to impossible to actually "prove" that you weren't the author because the writing style evolves over time too.

Have a look at this article I found on the net - it suggests what to do if your teacher found you have plagiarised - I found it... hmmm... interesting :-)

Don't think a teacher would "automatically" suspect anything.

My teacher told me he knows I was copying-pasting some text from the Internet, but he didn't do anything about it. He only asked me if I knew what I was copying and asked a few questions from the text; I read the material and knew the answers so he said "at least you read what you copied" and let it go. But next time I won't do it again; it's embarassing.
