Remember this is my rough draft but is there any changes I should make. Thanks

I am dedicated in many ways such as working in the emergency medical service, volunteer firefighter and being a father to 3 kids and a husband. Once at a Christmas dinner I got called out for a house fire and my dad, brother-in-law and I had to leave our wife and kids sitting there while we went to help a family in need.
My full-time job is working for Birchwood Safety and E.M.S. I work at least 40 hours a week and sometimes a lot more depending on how many emergency calls I get called out to. Here I had to pass a State of Michigan 80 hour course with state exams to become a medical first responder. Working in the emergency medical service takes a lot of continuing education classes. We have to take so many classes in a three-year period and have them registered with the State of Michigan. As a first responder you need 15 continuing education credits, as an emergency medical technician you need 30 continuing education credits, this is what I'm going for now. This is a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year job. We have to be willing to work, anytime of the day, weekends and even holidays. Right now we do a rotation that makes us work either Thanksgiving or Christmas and then the following year you work the opposite holiday. So you have to be willing to spend time away from your family when there are major holidays.
I'm also a paid on call firefighter for Resort-Bear Creek Fire & Rescue. Here I serve as a firefighter II, hazardous material specialist, and fire officer III. Here we have to do a State or Michigan course that composes of a 200-hour course with state exams you must pass to become a firefighter. I have to attend weekly meeting every Thursday night for 3 hours working with my fire department on drills. This is also a 24-hour a day, 7 day a week and 365 day a year job. You never know when you're going to get called out for a emergency, it could be on your kids first birthday, Christmas, family dinner or your kids school activities but this is part of the job and your family must accept it as that. You don't make a living being a volunteer firefighter. We get paid just over minimum wage for an emergency and that's okay because we do it for the love of helping people. I grew up as a son of a firefighter so it's in my blood to continue on with what I saw my father do. My father is a big reason why I am so dedicated to my profession as he is also very dedicated to his job as being a fulltime firefighter.
I am a father of 3 lovely and amazing kids and a husband to a fantastic wife. Marissa is 8 years old, Brohnson is 6 years old and Paytyn is 2 years old, so that gives me 2 girls and 1 boy. My kids keep me on my toes with wanting to wrestle with me on my free time, keeping up with the kid's school sports and having to take them all too different appointments that they may have. I also have a wonderful wife, Elise who is very supportive to me in all my career paths. She is my rock and always has been. She is the strongest person I know and she will do anything for anyone. We have been married for 9 years now and I would not trade our journey in life together with any other person in the world. She is my wife, my best friend and one amazing mother to my kids. She works part-time when I am off so she can stay at home with our kids so that we don't have to pay for daycare. Daycare is too expensive and by the time she would work fulltime we would be paying all that back in daycare so she works part-time and I work fulltime to cover the rest. I think this is tuff sometimes on us but right now it's the best thing we can do tell all the kids are in school. I will do anything for my parents that I can. They are getting older and I love to help them out as much as I can because I know, in my career that life is way too short. My dad recently suffered a near death heart attack almost 2 years ago where his heart had quit working and the firefighters he works with had to perform CPR to save his life. Thank god that they brought him back. I would not know what to do right now without my dad. He had to have a quadruple bypass. He had less than a 1% chance to live and he beat those odds. When he was in the hospital for a week, I stayed with him until he came home. This made me realize life is too short and my family has since meant a lot more to me.
I hope you can see why I would consider myself dedicated in anything that I put my heart too. I wish that more people would be more dedicated to things that are important to them.
