Scenario:

A Spanish student takes a history course. He wants to hire a native Spanish-speaking writer to complete a project. An American, native English-speaking (SSL or "Spanish as a Second Language") writer applies for the job and LIES about being a native Spanish-speaking professional. The Spanish student hires the writer, based on the writer's misrepresentations. The paper that the customer receives is infested with broken Spanish, replete with awkward jargon, and void of culturally-relevant content. The student is rightfully upset and demands a refund.

1. Is the Spanish student "prejudiced" or "racist"?

2. Are legitimate, honest, native Spanish-speaking writers "prejudiced" or "racist" for chastising the dishonest, SSL writer?

LIES about being a native Spanish-speaking

I'd say he is a lier and a judge should sentence him to life in prison (without the possibility of parole).

WritersBeware:

The broken Spanish and the awkward jargon may be due to a mental illness caused by his father gender identity disorder. I'd send this fake Spanish writer to a psychiatric hospital.

And of course, the cultural content...you know... ;-) He's obviously never watched University Challenge!!

WB, I bet you can do better than this to make your point!! I'm not gonna stoop to your level.

Fricative, keep your senseless drivel out of the thread.

Mod, I would appreciate it if you would remove fricative's useless, senseless post in order to keep the thread as sane, rational, and focused as possible. I'm sure that you understand where I'm going with this thread. It's important. Thanks.

Ohhh WB, don't get upset...I'm only a non-native loser!!

Ok, here it comes a "rational" answer (copied and pasted from another thread cos I'm too tired to write it again):

"Anyway, my point is that I will not try to get into your market (native English Speakers) because I don't sound "native".

Trust me, I really agree with you in that sense and I think that non-native English speakers should not write for native English students.

In the same way, I wouldn't like to hand in an essay at Uni written by a native English speaker because my teacher would realize straight away that it's not mine. I'd choose a literate non-native speaker to not arouse suspicion.

So, you've got your market and I've got mine.

WTF is this all about??
The Liar is a liar. The customer has every right to be pissed off.

1. No. No more so than the opposite. If english was not my primary language, and I spoke with broken english, like a vast majority of ESL people (think spanglish), then there is no way I would want a native english speaker writing for me. No University level, or even decent High School level, instructer is going to believe that a "perfectly written in english" essay was the work of their spanish student.

2. Again, no... see 1.

You confirmed my point with your answers. The point is that unqualified, ESL writers and foreign con-artists are always pulling the "race card" when confronted in this forum with evidence of their fraudulent practices.

The part of my post that you quoted was in reference to the "back and forth" above. I was questioning why in the hell that bickering is even happening, then the original post was pretty cut and dry.

I then proceeded to respond to the original post, :)

Thanks for posting useful information, it helped me avoid scams. "Claiming that you have not received our material is a crime" in the essay industry?
