I am sorry. I didn't mean any offense. I know there are both good and bad people in a society. P and WB are certainly the ones that have a clear hand in supporting growing racism, stereotypes, prejudice, etc. in the US and elsewhere (e.g. this forum).

How is that, exactly? By insisting that the level of fluency a given writer possesses is something that customers in this industry should know in advance?

I have already stated that I tell my customers up front about my country of origin and that English is my 2nd language.

However, your overgeneralized treatment of ESL writers - both serious and non-serious - (only because their English sounds different - from your divide American standards) is plainly insulting. You and WB (and a few others) have used many a derogatory stereotype, swear word, racist comment so frequently that no one doubts about your hollow arrogance that hurls the turnips back at you.

You must understand that today the entire world is a community which is essentially based on the principles of coexistence and not coextinction.

Everything that you do has a reason and logic and so is acceptable in some way or another.

It is very simple to assert that you have not learned to admit you're also imperfect like any other human being. I don't know if you will ever arrive at such realization. I wonder!

One does not "doubt about." One simply "doubts." However, one can "have doubts."

MeoKhan:

How can arrogance be hollow? I think that arrogance pretty much covers what you ignorantly and incorrectly think that you are trying to communicate.

MeoKhan:

WHAT?

MeoKhan:

Making an assertion of any kind is not difficult. (Well, it's not difficult for people who—unlike you—are professional writers who understand the language.)

It simply tells me you're completely devoid of something known as taste for literature and you call yourself a writer!

If you had read a few of British poets, you'd never have made such a disgracing comment which has devastated the tall structure of your arrogance.

Quote an online dictionary stating that "doubt about" is correct.

Yeah, that's what I thought, moron.

Why? How about because you told ME to look-up your ignorance in a dictionary. I don't have to do so because I know that I am correct. You—on the other hand—are a bumbling idiot who frequently makes uneducated claims and then refuses to provide evidence (because it doesn't exist, of course). You're both a moron and a coward.

No, not only because it "sounds different," but because it is more difficult to understand, less concise, and less nuanced.
MeoKhan:

It is very simple to assert anything. Proving your assertions is something you have incredible difficulty with, however.
MeoKhan:
I wonder what you guys would be doing to the non-white in real life out there where you live in the mighty US society.

I really have no idea what you're saying here. This is the problem with EFL individuals not knowing their limitations. I would never try to insist upon my qualifications in German, even though I speak a little German, and if a native German speaker told me they were having trouble understanding me I wouldn't be offended--chagrined, perhaps, but it would be understandable.
MeoKhan:
Have you ever heard the name of a dictionary - Oxford Advanced Learner? No you haven't!

Considering this dictionary is designed specifically for EFLers, it wouldn't be surprising if WB hadn;t heard of it. Luckily, it's available for free online, and in the example you're thinking of:

"doubt (about something) There is some doubt about the best way to do it."

"doubt" is being used as a noun. In your sentence it was used as a verb, and "about" is incorrect. Again, you need to learn how to use your sources better.

First, this doesn't make sense (not in English, anyway). Second, you have failed to respond to the fact that your own source shows you to be incorrect.

Perfect stereotyping and racism!

EFL is not a class of people or a race, so this comment is in no way a stereotype or racist. When speakers of any foreign language don't know their limitations in that language, communication problems are bound to become exacerbated. Like when anyone tries to have a conversation with you.

FYI - read this dictionary definition.

of anyone. When people do not admit their limitations, regardless of how those people are or what those limitations are, it creates problems. When those limitations have to do with communication, the problem that manifests is difficulty in communicating. This iin no way, shape, or form a stereotype. You're just not fluent enough in English to understand a) what I say or b) what the dictionary says.
